Towing and transport rules

Carry it on the deck. Never flat-tow it.

Can you flat-tow the WorkWagon 100? No. Don't tow it with the rear wheels on the ground: spinning the rear drive can push voltage back into the controller and damage it. Towing isn't an approved use, and this page covers the right ways to move it instead.

Why flat-towing damages it

The WorkWagon 100 is a two-wheel (rear) drive machine. Its rear wheels are connected to the motor through sealed half-shafts, so when the wagon rolls with the rear wheels on the ground and no power on, those wheels keep turning the drivetrain.

That can push voltage back into the controller and damage it — the same reason you should never flat-tow most electric drive machines. Neutral alone is not enough; the rear wheels must be off the ground.

Ways to move it

SituationHow to move it
Short move across the yardPower on and drive it under its own power
Moving it without powerPut it in neutral and lift the rear drive wheels off the ground
Hauling it by pickup or trailerRamp or winch it up, then strap it down

Transporting it by truck or trailer

  • Use a ramp rated for its 375 lb (170 kg) weight, and have a second person help.
  • Strap the wagon down by the frame so it can't shift.
  • A utility trailer or a pickup bed both work; no special equipment is required beyond good ramps and straps.

Towing with it

Towing isn't an approved use. The WorkWagon 100 is built to carry loads on its deck — up to 1,764 lb (800 kg) — not to pull trailers or implements.
