The right tire for an electric utility wagon is the one matched to the surface you drive most. Every WorkWagon 100 includes a set of four Utility tires for mixed everyday work; three additional tread styles are available as extra sets of four tires with rims for $248.
The four tire styles
Suitability below is based on the visible tread design of each tire, not documented field testing of these exact tires. Real-world results depend on load, surface, tire pressure, and conditions — and tire choice never changes the wagon's approved operating limits.
| Tire | Best suited for | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|
| Utility — Standard (included) | Everyday chores across gravel driveways, packed dirt, pasture, and mixed property surfaces | More likely to mark soft lawns than the turf option |
| Lawn & Turf | Maintained lawns, campgrounds, landscaped properties, and firm paths where minimizing grass disturbance matters | Less bite in deep mud and loose soil |
| Trail & Terrain | Uneven dirt trails, woodland paths, loose gravel, and mixed off-road use | Chunkier tread can disturb grass and feel rougher on hard surfaces |
| Mud & Field | Soft ground, muddy farm lanes, and loose soil where widely spaced, angled lugs can dig in | Most aggressive on lawns; less suitable for frequent pavement use |
Included tires vs. additional sets
One set of four Utility tires comes with the wagon. Additional sets — four tires with rims, in any of the three other treads — are $248 per set. Because they come mounted on rims, swapping sets is a lug-nut job, not a tire-machine job.
Practical examples
- Farms and homesteads: Utility covers mixed daily chores; keep a Mud & Field set for soft lanes and wet seasons.
- Lawns and landscaped properties: Lawn & Turf where minimizing grass disturbance matters.
- Campgrounds: Lawn & Turf for maintained grounds and firm paths between sites.
- Woodland paths and hunting property: Trail & Terrain for uneven dirt trails and loose gravel.
Tradeoffs and limits
No tire changes the wagon's approved limits: a 1,764 lb (800 kg) safe load rating, and hill guidance of about 30° (58% grade) empty or lightly loaded and 15–20° fully loaded on firm, dry ground. On loose sand, letting a little air out of the tires improves traction; go straight up loose slopes, not sideways.
We don't promise turf protection, puncture resistance, improved range, snow performance, or traction ratings that haven't been established.
What about snow?
We're working on tire chains for snow use. Compatibility, availability, and pricing are not yet confirmed.
