Off-grid and field charging

A standard outlet is all it takes.

How do you charge an electric utility wagon in the field? The WorkWagon 100 plugs into any standard 110–220 V household outlet and reaches a full charge from empty in about 6–8 hours — no special charging equipment needed.

What it charges from

The charger draws standard household power: regular 110–220 V outlets. A full charge from empty takes about 6–8 hours, and most owners charge after each day of use rather than running the pack flat.

Charge in a dry place — a barn, shed, garage, or covered porch all work.

The battery pack

The 48 V, 20 Ah pack is four sealed 12 V AGM batteries wired in series. They're maintenance-free: no watering and no acid top-ups.

Generators and solar

Because the charger runs on standard household power, it needs a plug that supplies household-style power. We haven't published generator or solar charging specs, so we can't promise those setups work with the stock charger.

If you're planning to charge off-grid — a remote acreage, a hunting cabin, a job site — contact us before you buy and we'll talk through your setup honestly.

Planning a day of work

  • About 15 miles per charge is the rule of thumb; heavy loads, hills, soft ground, and cold weather all shorten it.
  • In cold areas or for night work, a second set of batteries keeps one set charged and ready — a second set is available for purchase; contact us.
  • These are standard lead-acid (sealed AGM) batteries: keep them fully charged, avoid deep discharge, and don't charge them when they're excessively cold.
  • Below 0°F (−18°C), expect driving range to drop by about 25–30%.
